Japan attacks Port Arthur in Manchuria. Japan and Russia signed a treaty. This angered the Russians greatly. -
Peaceful Protests
Factory workers protest at the Czar's house. They wanted better working conditions. There was approximately 200,000 factory workers protesting. -
Parliment Formation
This was Russia's first parliment. It was called the Duma. The Duma wanted a seperation of power but the Czar did not. -
Final Blows
Nicholas the II entered Russia into World War I. Russia was very unprepared and struggled. This revealed that the Czar's rule was weak. -
Textile Workers Revolt
Women textile workers lead a work strike. Riots went on for 5 days straight. The riots finally ended when soldiers were ordered to fire upon the crowd. -
Riots in the Factories
Factory workers are fed up with oppressive government and decide to revolt. Armed factory workers stormed the Winter Palace. They ended up taking control of the government. -
Bolshevik Revolt
Russia and Germany sign Brest-Litovsk. Russia surrendered a large amount of land. Russia's general population was supremely unhappy. -
Finally Peace
The Russian Civil war ends on this day. It lasted for approximately 2 years. The red army finally ended up defeating the white army. -
The NEP
Lenin decides to implement an economic plan called the New Economic Policy. This plan caused farmers to be able to sell there surplus produce. This plan was a very controlled form of capitalism. -
Lenin's Stroke
Vladimir Lenin suffered a minor stroke but didn't die. This caused a race for power between Stalin and Bolshevik. Also Russia was renamed to the USSR.
