End of the Seven Years' War
The French and Indian War which was part of The Seven Years' War ends with the British being victorious. Two documents were later made. The Treaty of Paris, and The Proclomation of 1763. The Treaty of Paris was made to establish peace between France and Great Britain. It also ,ade the French give up there territories in mainland North America to the British. The Proclamation of 1763 was made to prevent any colonials expanding out west, past the Appalachian mountains. -
Sugar Act of 1764
This was the first law passed by the British parlament onto the colonisits. It was made to raise taxes on imported sugars. -
The Stamp Act
A new tax imposed on the colonists by Britain. All American colonists were required to pay a tax on every piece of printed paper that were used at the time. Like Legal documents, licenses, newspapers, etc. -
Quartering Act
American colonists were required to house and feed British soldiers that were stationed in the colonies. -
Townshend Act
The British made a tax on glass, white lead, paper, paint, and tea. It convinced the colonists to smuggle tea instead of buying it from the British. -
Boston Massacre
A patriot mob was throwing snowballs, stones, and sticks at British officers. The riot began when 5 citizens attacked British Captain Thomas Preston. The soldiers open fired and killed 3 on the spot. and wounded 8. 2 of the 8 died later from their wounds. -
King George III
King Geogre III came into power and made the British Monarchy all powerful with him controlling everything. He surronded with people who would never go against his rule. -
Bankruptcy in the British East India Company
In 1773 the British East India Company went Bankrupt. The British ministry made tea to be only purchased from the British East India company so they would go bankrupt -
Boston Tea Party
About a hundred Bostonians dressed up as Indians and boarded the tea ships. They crushed the tea crates and dumped them into the harbor. -
The Intolerable Acts
The reason of the Intolerable Acts was to punish the colonists for what they did in the Boston Tea Party. -
Quebec Act
The Quebec Act settles produres of governance in the Province of Quebec. -
First Continental Congress
Tje First Continental Congress met from September 5th to October 26. Every colony except Georgia sent delegates. They came together to show their combined authority. -
Lexington and Concord
The Battles of Lexington and Concord started the American Revolutionary War. On April 18th hundreds of British soldiers went to Concord to capture the arms cache. -
Declaration on Independance
On this day the United States was born with the signing of the Declaration of Independance
