French and Indian War
War fought between Great Britain and the French and the Indians of North America. Most of the battles were in Canada. American colonists, including George Washington, fought with the British in this war, which lasted from 1754 to 1763. The British won the war and won the right to keep Canada and several other areas in the New World. -

Proclomation of 1763
The french and indian war came to end and the colinists wanted to maximize on the new areas of land that became availible. The tryed to move west but the indians fought back protecting there home lands. The colinist called in the british government to remove the indians but they were in debt from the war. The colinist questioned the power of the government and ability to make descisions. -
The sugar act
1764 Act that put a three-cent tax on foreign sugar and increased taxes on coffee, indigo, and certain kinds of wine. It banned importation of rum and French wines. These taxes affected only part of the population.The affected merchants were very upset with this because it took some of there profit away. -
Stamp Act
The bill was passed on February 17, The Stamp Act was Parliament's first serious attempt to assert governmental authority over the colonies. Great Britain was faced with a massive national debt following the Seven Years War. That debt had grown. English citizens in Britain were taxed at a rate that created a serious threat of revolt. -
Declatory Act
This was an act that argued with britian and there authority on laws and wether or not they were in controll. Once this was passed many of the colonists were happy and joyful. They did not read all of it and later found out it was not as it was thought to be. -
The Townshed Act
The townshed act was created to put taxes on glass, paint, oil, lead, paper, and tea. The result was the colonists were furious with parliment when they created by the Stamp Act. They fought this act and tried to get this act repeiled. Crowds mobbed soldiers and forced them back. They had to send more troops to controll the situation. -
Boston Non Importation Act
this is an act that would not export or import any kind of goods or merchandize from Great Britain. They would have to come up with there own way of getting goods. Lots of people were at first happy with this act, but later realized that they now had to find supplies in other places. -
Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was a street fight that occurred on March 5, 1770, between a patriot mob, throwing snowballs, stones, and sticks, at a squad of British soldiers. Several colonists were killed and this led to a campaign. They were ferious and wanted to see change -
The Boston Tea Act
On a cold December night, radical townspeople raided the ships and tossed 342 chests of tea into the water. Disguised as Native Americans, the colonists were happy and proud of what they did. It sent a big message to Britan.
