    Syrians in Deraa started protesting after 15 children were arrested and tortured for writing anti-government graffiti on walls. At first, protests were very small and the people asked for the children to be released, democracy and more freedom. However, the government did not like this and the army killed four of the protesters. The next day, they shot at people during a funeral, killing one more. People then became angry and the protests and riots spread throughout the whole country.

    During the third year of the Syrian Civil War the government started filling warheads with fatal chemicals. At the estimated time of 2:30 am the warheads were fired into neighborhoods from behind government lines. These warheads killed about 1,400 Syrian Civilians, 426 of which were children. Violent acts like this ha lead the Syrian people to seek refuge abroad.

    France's president, Francois Hollande declared that France would welcome 30,000 Syrian Refugees. He said "30,000 refugees will be welcomed over the next two years. Our country has the duty to respect this commitment." He also said the 50 million euros would be put into an investment fund used to support housing refugees.

    Many Syrian refugees who want to escape to the UK have been able to enter Calais, one of the last towns in France. 6,000 refugees filled the section of Calais referred to as “the jungle.” The refugees there have become a threat to the natives of Calais. Asylum seekers have made homes, churches and even a library but still want to go to England where there are more jobs. They are going to extremes to get from Calais to the UK, storming ferries and trying to go via railway tunnels.

    Syrian Refugees going to Britain for work is one of the reasons there will be a Brexit (British exit vote) from the European Union (EU). Britain wants to leave the EU is because they want control of their borders. Being part of the European Union means that anyone can go to different places in the EU without a visa. If Britain leaves the EU they will no longer have to take in all the refugees from other. Soon there will be a vote to determine if they will leave.
