Introduction
I will be taking pictures of the same tree to identify how the tree changed over time. I believe the trees leaves will die and fall off as winter approaches. -
September 21, 2011
The leaves are mostly green, but are beginning to turn yellow. My hypothesis is on beginning to proved correct. -
September 28, 2011
The leaves are starting to wither away at the tips of the branches, but most of the leaves are still green. -
October 5, 2011
More leaves have been lost, but a majority of the leaves are still green. I'm beginning to think the tree may not lose all it's leaves and my hypothesis may be proved wrong. -
October 12, 2011
The leaves are almost all yellow now. A lot has progressed in just a week. My hypothesis is now looking good. -
October 19, 2011
The leaves are mostly yellow, but there is also a bit of orange. My hypothesis is continuing forward. -
October 26, 2011
Still looking mostly yellow. It's amazing how different parts of the trees leaves turn different colors at different times. I thought they would mostly change all at the same time. -
November 1, 2011
Wow, in one week nearly all the leaves are gone from the tree. My hypothesis is nearly been proven true. -
November 7, 2011
All the leaves are gone, The hypothesis has been proven true, unless something starts to grow in the future. -
November 16, 2011
Still no leaves. Other trees around it are also losing leaves. It has been getting colder, especially at night. -
November 30, 2011
It's been 2 weeks due to the Thanksgiving break, and all the leaves are gone. It appears the tree has some moss growing on it as well. -
December 5, 2011
Final Observation. There is moss growing on the tree, but no leaves. The branches have snow on them still from the big storm last week. -
Conclusion
In my obsevations I saw a dramatic change in the tree overtime. The leaves went from green to yellow to orange to gone. In the end the leaves fell off the tree and died, therefore proving my hypothesis that the leaves would fall as we get closer to winter.
