    Born on the Southern Coast of France, and studied Debussy. He immediately rejected Impressionism, was clos friends with Germaine Tailleferre and gave her needed encouragement to continue composing. He also travelled to Brazil with Claude in 1918 and this influenced his compositions.

    Born in the South East suburbs of Paris, with a supportive mother who encouraged her musical interests but an unsupportive father. She studied at the Paris Conservatory of music, and was the only female composer that was a part of Les Six.

    From Southern France, studied composition at the Paris Conservatory with world renowned teachers. He was a part of Les Six, a neo-classicist, composed film music, ran SACEM, and was a music journalist.

    Born in Paris to rich parents, and was a self taught musician but he also had musical tutors. Travelled to meet Schoenberg, Webern, and Berg with Milhaud. His partner Pierre Bernac premiered many of his songs.
