  • Education

In the year of 1907, Neils Bohr Enrolled in University of Copenhagen. An interesting fact to add is that his father was a professor of Philosophy at the same university.
  • Bohr Model

    Bohr Model
Niels Bohr is most known for the Bohr Mode, it lays out the make up of an atom. Atoms only give off radiation or absorb it when electrons are placed between a normal state. Electrons an be shown moving around the nucleus in orbits. He wanted to look deeply into Ernest Rutherford's theory that the atom contained a heavily charged nucleus, with lighter negatively charges electrons. His model helped build up the Periodic Table, he went on to receive the Nobel Price in 1922 for this theory.

  • Nobel Prize and His Institute

Niels Bohr received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1922, he used the basis of Quantum Theory to develop a picture of the atomic structure. However, before that took place, in 1916 after he became the Professor of Theoretical Physics at Copenhagen University. The Institute for Theoretical Physics was established for him.
