Portfolio Assignment
-
Character Development
-Spring board for the rest of my projects on the play "Tangled Up In Blue"
-Should have explored more details, such as romantic partner, did not even give him a name.
-Gave depth to character in play, which added depth to entire production.
-Starting point for actor; without it does not bring character to life; does not draw audience in. -
Monologue - Trash it
-Did not reflect who I was; I did not reflect the character
-Was not ready to present; Do not enjoy the centre stage
-Need to look for and use stage directions when performing; I ignored them the first time I did my monologue
-Ignored my own character analysis I had written up on the first assignment that would have helped this -
Juliet Mask
-Darker side of Juliet
-Should have placed on stick, not elastic to attach to head
-Production would benefit from removable mask
-Depth of colour and style of mask influence production: impiles more rebellion for Juliet than a light, airy mask would -
Tangled Up In Blue - Set design
-Liked the simple, yet elegant appeal
-Would change to smaller, shorter table with fabric chairs.
-Change in set would change the second scene, but would still work production wise
-Changes scene from sterile environment to more warmth between characters. -
Tangled Up In Blue - Sound design
-Time consuming, but valuable
-Opening sound was appropriate to house for sense of style
-Cafe songs did forshadowing, and set mood
-Ending song reflected what happened during the entire play
-Wouldn't change any of them at the moment.
-All worked together to create a heartbreaking atmosphere. -
Portfolio Reflection
-Wanted to put all in portfolio
-Reflection made me consider changes I would not have otherwise
-Realization that I prefer the backstage componants
-Set and sound design my two main strengths; want to make use of them in the future
-Most important to whole of production: Props develop from the set choices; sound sets tone and mood for entire show.
