Life Moments

  • Birth

    Birth
I was born in Hastings, Minnesota. My parents were there with me and I ended up having family surrounding me during that time. This event is important because it was the day of my birth.
  • First day at New Life

    First day at New Life
My first day at New Life was when I was the age of 5. This was my pre K year at New Life. Having a Christian education at a young age really set me apart from other people. I was filled with the knowledge of the Bible at a young age. I could always come back to the biblical education that New Life gave me. Still to this day, I talk to my preschool teacher which really has given me a bond with her.
  • Left New Life

    Left New Life
I left New Life after my 2nd grade year. We ended up moving houses that same year. It was pretty chaotic going from a different school and a different house. I went from a private biblical education at New Life, to a public school at Cottage Grove Elementary. This experience really made me see the world in a different way. There is this "New Life bubble" that so many kids at New Life have and I am just grateful that I was able to get out of the bubble and explore the world.
  • Moved again

    Moved again
I moved again a year later. I also moved schools. I went from Cottage Grove Elementary to Grey Cloud Elementary. I also moved houses again. I've always lived in Cottage Grove no matter what. I remember that feeling of starting over again and it was tough. I had some good friends there and it was hard to leave. I do remember that my dad's team was playing a lot better which gave us the option to move into a better house and area.
  • Dad's Team Wins National Championships

    Dad's Team Wins National Championships
My dad's team won a national championship for the first time since 2005 in 2012. It was my dad's first national championship as the head coach at the University of Minnesota. This was a big moment in my life because something finally went right for us. My family knew that we didn't have to move anymore and I didn't have to switch schools anymore. His team ended up winning again in 2013, 2015, and 2016. We have stayed in the same place since then.
  • Came Back to New Life

    Came Back to New Life
I came back to New Life at the start of my 6th grade year. I remember not wanting to go back because I made such good friendships at my old school. My parents believed in Christian education so therefore they sent me back to New Life. I was able to reunite with my friends that I had a long time ago. New Life has shaped me into a leader and shaped me into a better person. I feel like I am able to lead others through my actions at this place and that is what I wanted to do when I came back here.
  • 2nd Place in Sections

    2nd Place in Sections
My 9th grade year I made the varsity baseball team. That shaped me into a better baseball player and also a person who can lead that team. I learned from different players especially Zach Thor. He had a huge impact on my life and I looked up to him as a person and as a baseball player. I remembered wanted to be just like him. Our team ended up losing in the section finals to go to state which was very heartbreaking but a good learning experience for me.
  • Mexico Mission Trip

    Mexico Mission Trip
My junior year of high school at New Life Academy, I got the opportunity to go on a missions trip to Cabo in Mexico. It was a school trip so everyone who signed up for it went. This has been the highlight of my entire life. I have never experienced something more powerful then this trip. I was able to meet kids who just wanted to be loved, build a school, and be able to spread the word of God to the people around there. This was hands down the greatest experience of my life.
  • GCU Trip

I toured the college of Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. There I was met with nice warm weather, family, and a very welcoming community. I was able to tour the college with my friend Sten. We absolutely loved it. I will be able to play club baseball for the school, be able to intern with pro baseball teams, and able to grow in my faith with Christ. What could be better than that? I loved the college and could really see myself going there.
