Kadidja's Literacy Timeline

  • Free Time

    Free Time
I used to read in class during free time instead of playing with other kids.
  • We Read at Night

    We Read at Night
In third grade, I won a Kindle Fire by reading every single night for 30 nights in an event my school hosted called We Read at Night. I was so excited when my name was finally called that year from a raffle!
  • Library Visit

    Library Visit
I went to the library with my mom and I constantly asked for the volunteer to read me the books she recommended to me. We spent about 3 hours just reading.
  • Tutoring

    Tutoring
In fourth grade, I was asked to help First Graders that didn't have English as their first language with their grammer and spelling
  • Harry Potter

    Harry Potter
I met Cara in sixth grade and she introduced me to the Harry Potter series. I finished it in seventh grade!
  • Hunger Games

    Hunger Games
I remeber haven't reading any books for a few months, and then finishing Hunger Games as an E-book during quarantine and online classes. This book is what introduced me into dystopian books- one of my favorite genres. Big Peeta fan!!
  • Poetry

    Poetry
I strated writing poetry in eighth grade after watching a video about how it felt very therapeutic to some. I've written about 20 poems as of now, but I don't know if they're any good! I certainly like them though, and go back to reas them from time to time.
  • Best Writer

    Best Writer
My English class during sophomore year was probably the best English I had while going to school because I have learned so much about the best writing techniques and different styles of writing from authors dating back to the Purian times! I loved how I have come so far in that class than I have in the past two years
  • Flowers for Algernon

    Flowers for Algernon
I have read The Hate U Give and Born a Crime over the summer, and I am now currently reading Flowers for Algernon, which is amazing so far (I'm halfway done)! Hopefully I get to find more interesting books like this one in the future to read, and that I wikk have time to read them.
