Bifocals
The Bifocals were invented in1784 by Benjamin Franklin. Benjamin Franklin was the first man to were bifocals. John Isaac Hawkins coined the term Bifocals. The bifocals are the same thing as modern day glasses. Glasses or bifocals are a divice that alowys people to see better because there eyesight isn't as good as normal. If there wern't glasses then people wouldnt be able to see as good like when they are driving, writting, seeing how much medicine to take, even walking. -
Cotten Gin
In 1793 Eli Whitney invented the Cotten Gin. Eli Whitney was born on Dec. 8, 1765. He died on Jan. 8,1825. The cotten gin is a device that pulls the seeds out of cotten. Without it we would have to hand pull the seeds out wich would take forever. -
Mechanical Reaper
IN 1831 Cyrus Hall McCormick invented the Mechanical Reaper. Before the mechanical reaper people had to "Hand Reap". Cyrus McCormick was born on Feb. 15, 1809. The mechanical reaper is what is now a hoe. A mechanical reaper is a device that alows you to put it on a cow and have it hoe the cround for you. Without the mechanical reaper you wouldn't -
Morse Code
In 1835 Samuel F.B. Morse invented Morse Code. Samuel F. B. Morse was born on Apr.27,1791. He died on Apr. 2 1872, and my birthday is April 2, 2000. Morse code is a way to press a button for solong in a pattern that it sends to anouther one and can make words and letters. It helped us by being able to tell outher if you need help or where an enemy is. -
Continuos Sewing Machine
In 1860 Isaac Merit Singer invented the Contiuous Sewing Machine. He was a inventor, actor,and entreprenuer. He also invented a machine to drill rock. The continuos sewing machine is a device that alows you to push a button and it sows for you. Without it you would have to hand sowe everything and that would take forever. -
Typewritter
In 1866 Christopher Latham Sholes invented the Typewritter. "A" typewritter was made noiseless. The first typewritter was the Blickensderfer. The typewritter is a device that allows you to press a button and have it put the letters on a paper without having to hand write everysingle word. If there was no typewritter you wouldn't have computers because a computer is a typewritter with a mouse, screen, and ect. Also it would be hard in life because everythig would have to be hand written like .... -
Telephone
In 1876 Alexander Graham Bell inventerd the telephone. Alexander was born on March 3, 1847 in Edinburgh, Scottland. He died August 2, 1922 in Beinn Bhreagh, Nova Scotia, Canada.
The telephone is a device that allows someone to talk from a long distence. If there wasn't the telephone you wouldn't be able to call 911, talk to relatives in anouther country, tell work that you need a day off today, call for a pizza,ect. -
Zipper
In 1891 Whitcomb L. Judson invented the zipper. Whitcomb was born on March 1839 in Chicago, Illinois. He had 3 children, Jane, Gertrude, and Ross. The zipper is a device that you pull something up and it pulls your shirt together. If we didn't have the zipper we would have to button every thing and tents would eather have a flap in front of it or no flap in front of it. -
Windshield Wipers
In 1903 Mary Anderson invented the Windshield Wipers. Mary was born in 1866. And died 1953 at age 87.Windshield wipers are a device that allows your windshield to get the water off of it. Without it we wouldn't be able to drive dueing the rain. Or if we did we wouldn't be able to see because of the water on the windshield. -
Microwave Oven
In 1946 Dr. Persy Spencer invented the microwave Oven. The Microwave Oven was invented on acsodent. The first microwave was roughly as large as and heavy as a refrigerator. The microwave oven is a device that cooks quicker then a stove. Without it you wouldn't be able to quickly make something that needs to be heated up. -
Computer Mouse
In 1964 Douglas Englbart invented the computer mouse. Douglas was born on Jan. 30, 1925. He is still alive to this day at age 86. The computer mouse is a device that allows us to travel and use the computer more afishuntly. It is used in everyday livaes like schools, works, government, and the military. If it wasn't for Douglas Englbart we wouldn't be able to do many things today like use radar with boats, find your way with a gps by a satilite, and fill out tons of paperwork at your work.
