Childhood
(Country Side Russia) Child hood is hard in Russia. My parents are very poor. They farmed for a living. I have 2 brothers and 2 sisters. As I grew up I wanted to move to America to find wealth. I want to turn this Autobiography into a book someday that’s why I am writing it. -
Coming to America
(New York)20 years old earned some money and came to Ellis island. I heard of the buffalo hunting industry. So I decided to do something with it. I hopped on a train and started out. I was first going to be a buffalo skinner for the fur. I would earn enough money to buy a rifle. Skinning the buffalo is hard it takes a long time. The worst thing about it is the smell of dead animal. -
Buffalo Business
(Mid West)I finally bought a rifle and got away from the stinky job. Hunting the buffalo is fun now. I earn the name "Russian Bulls eye" from the America because of my good aim. Shooting the buffalo was much better that doing the dirty work. It was fun and I got a good pay check out of it too. I felt kind of bad for what I was doing. We wasted a lot of the good meat. -
Settling Down
1880- (Wyoming)After working 9 years with buffalo I earned a lot of many. I also got tired of traveling on the train all of those years. I decided to settle down. I bought some land in Wyoming and built a house. I took a job of breeding horses and then selling them. It brought less profit than the buffalo hunting but at least I didn’t have to travel. -
New Job
(Traviling)My company was gong good but their was no thrill any more. I decided to sell my house and all of my horses except for one. I began a new business with trapping. The beaver populations were abundant so I trapped for them. This job made me start traveling again. This brought in a lot of money. Every costumer was paying big money for them. Traps weren't that expensive either. -
Ending my Career
1885- I worked many years as a trapper. I learned all the tricks. I got attacked by a grizzly and got chunks of meant pulled out of my arm and my back got all ripped up. Luckily another trapper was close by. I also fell through the ice multiple times while trapping. I later decided to retire and bought a cottage and lived their the rest of my life.
