    On June 16, 1931, Al Capone pled guilty to tax evasion, and prohibition chagres. He told the press he stroke the deal for a 2 and 1/2 sentance, but the judge said no such thing. On October 18, 1931, Capone was convicted after trial, and on November 24, was sentenced to eleven years in Federal prison.
