Mayflower Compact
The Mayflower Compact was written by the colonists and was the first document passed by the government of Plymouth. Fourty-one males signed this document to form a government based on the colonists own laws. This made the colonists happy and the new government was a success. -
Proclamation of 1763
This proclamation was a way to make peace between the colonists and the Native Americans and tried to prevent settelers from migrating west past the Appalachian Mountains. This angered the settlers making them feel trapped in their colony. -
Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was an incident that took place in front of Fanuel Hall and that killed five men instantly. This was a face to face shooting by the British on the American colonists. The five men killed were Crispus Atticks, Samuel Gray, Samuel Maverick, James Caldwell, and Patrick Carr. -
Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party was an incident that took place in Boston Harbor and when the colonists disguised themselves as Indians. They threw an excesseve amount of tea into the Boston Harbor showing protest against the British taxes on tea. -
Intolorable Acts
The Intolorable Acts took place in March of 1774 to May of 1774. They were five acts given on the people of Massachusetts following the Boston Tea Party, These acts were passed by the parliament and basically took away civil rights of the people of Massachusetts. They closed the Boston Harbor and riots started forming. The four acts were also known as the Boston Port Act, Massachusetts Government Act, Administration of Justice Act, Quatering Act, and Quebec Act.
