Fredonian Rebellion
The Fredonian Rebellion was an effort by the Haden Edwards and his brother declaring that Mexico could no longer control their area(Nacogdoches). The rebellion was stopped by Stephen F. Austin. -
Meir y Teran Report
The Meir y Teran Report was a report commissioned by the Mexican government to investigate the conditions in North Texas. Gen Manual Meir y Teran reported that there were more Anglo-Americans living in the area than Mexicans (10-1). The report also stated the colonist were ignoring the laws. And restricting slavery in Texas. -
Decree of April 6, 1830
Stopped the flood of immigration from the United States to Texas. The law also banned slavery, and encouraged European immigration. -
The Convention of 1832
It was the first political gathering of colonist in Mexican Texas. Delegates sought reforms from the Mexican government and hoped to quell the widespread belief that settlers in Texas wished to secede from Mexico. -
Anahuac
Were uprising settlers in and around Anahuac, Texas in 1832 and 1835 which helped precipitate the Texas Revolution. -
Election Of Santa Anna
He was elected president in 1833, winning by a landslide. He personally led the army into Texas to squelch the revolution. He also carried out a ''take-no-prisoners'' policy having everyone killed at the Alamo and at Goliad. -
The Convention of 1833
Was a political gathering of settlers in Mexican Texas, was a successor to the Convention of 1832 whose request had not been addressed by the Mexican government. -
Arrest of Stephen F. Austin
Stephen F. Austin was arrested and charged with treason because of a letter he wrote, prior to his meeting with Santa Anna ( to discuss grievances) encouraging Texans to form their own. -
The Consultation
The Consultation served as the professional government of Mexican Texas from November 1835 to March 1836 during the Texas Revolution.
