Persian wars start
The Persian war started because of a conflict between Greek and The Persian colonies. During this war, Persia invaded Greece two times. The first invasion was lead by Mardonious; it failed. One day, Persians were leaving in their ships, while they were loading the ships, the Athenians attacked and many Persians died. Athens showed to the rest that Persia could be beaten. Greeks won. -
480 BCE
Xerxes invades Greece
This one was the second invasion of Greece, leaded by Xerxes. Athenians lost the battle of Artemisium and Persia advances. Athens was evacuated and them captured by the Persians. Athenian navy defeated the Persian fleet. Xerxes leaved with his army but ordered Mardonious to stay. -

Peloponnesian War begins
The main cause was that Athens became too powerful as the leader of the Delian League. Some Greek city-states wanted to leave the Delian League now that Persian threat is gone. Athens punishes the city-states by conquering them and taking them as slaves. Sparta creates the Peloponnesian to counter the Delian League.
Pericles protect all the citizens with their wall. However, Athens undergoes a plague in the 2nd year. Sparta wins the war. -

Pericles leads Athens
Athens was very wealthy and powerful. Pericles was the leader and he increased the democracy, created the strongest navy and made Athens more beautiful. Everything between Persian wars and Peloponnesian wars.
