The slave code in Virginia
The slave code in Virginia declared that if a slave died while resisting his master, the master could not be charged with a felony. This was important because it showed that a master would not deliberately kill his own slave and the death most have been a consequence. -
The slave code of South Carolina
The slave code fo Soth Carolina stipulated that negroes, mulattos, Indians and mestizos were to be assumed to be slaves, unless having contrary proof; slaves could only travel with their master's permission;salves could suffer death for small crimes, not treated with complete justice. This was important because it prevented any uprising rebellion of the slaves, like the Stone Rebrllion. -

Slave Code of Virginia
The state of Virginia passes a law forbiting African-Americans to assemble between sunset and sunrise for religious worship or for instruction. This code was important because it allowed Virginia to keep control and order with the slaves. -
