Maurice Wilkes assembled the EDSAC, the first practical stored-program computer, at Cambridge University. This is important because it is the first practical stored program computer. -
Electronic Computer
The first electronic computer is created in Japan by Hideo Yamachito. I chose to include this even because I feel like it is important that Yamachito invented the electronic computer. -
ARPA
ARPA (Advanced Research Projects Agency) and NASA is formed. I chose to include this event because I feel like NASA has a lot to do with all the technology. -
The Integrated Circuit
Jack Kilby & Robert Noyce invented the Integrated Circuit. Known as a 'The Chip'
I included this event in my timeline because it is important, with out the intergrated circuit we wouldn`t have the computers we have today. -
ARPAnet
In 1969 the ARPAnet was invented. The ARPAnet is the original Internet. I this event is important because a computer is nothing without the internet. -
The Ethernet Computer Networking
Robert Metcalfe & Xerox invented the Ethernet Computer Networking.The ethernet is a system for connecting computers within a building using hardware running from machine to machine. I think that it is important because the ethernet is the most widely installed LAN protocol. -
The First Hobby and Home Computers
In 1974/75, Scelbi & Mark-8 Altair & IBM 5100 Computers were introduced to the public.They are the first consumer computers. They are important because they are what led us to almost everyone having a computer at home. -
Microsoft
In 1985, Microsoft Windows was launched. I believe that this event is important because most people use this program and Apple. They are very useful. -
iPhone
On June 29, 2007, Apple Computers released its new touch screen smart phone called the iPhone. I included this event in my timeline because I think this invention changed the way we live.
