Six-hundred people went on a 54 mile march, standing up for voting rights. The marchers started in Selma, Alabama and wanted to finish in Montgomary. While on the Edmund Pettis Bridge, state troopers brutally beat the marchers in plain sight of many photographers and news reporters. This tragic event is now know as Bloody Sunday. -

Martin Luther King was devastated by Bloody Sunday, and once seeing the footage on the news he immediately flew down and leg a large group of people across the bridge. The group got on their knees, and they prayed and then left to return to a church. -
