Chase B Henry's Reading History

  • Please, Baby, Please

    Please, Baby, Please
This is the first book I remember my mom reading to me. It's also the first book that I remember seeing someone who looked like me.
  • The Giving Tree

    The Giving Tree
I've never been a big reader so once I fell in love with this book I clung to it. I would carry it around wherever we went and I would reread it any second I got. It just recently stopped being my favorite book only because I feel as if I shouldn't have a children's book be my favorite book.
  • Junie B. Jones series

    Junie B. Jones series
I started reading this when I felt like it was mandatory for me to read chapter books. Junie B. Jones might also be the reason I go by Chase B. Henry or it just has a really nice ring to it.
  • Archie Comics

    Archie Comics
I shied away from reading for a long time because I was never at the reading level I was supposed to be. That completely shattered my relationship with reading. Yet when I saw my sister start buying these comics at the grocery store I would do the same or I would read them after she finished. We had a HUGE collection of Archie Comics!
  • Road Not Taken

    Road Not Taken
This is just a poem I read in 6th grade, but that was also the year I realized I wanted to be a writer. So, I wrestled between wanting to write poems instead of novels that year. I love poems, but writing them is not for me. I do really enjoy this poem though, I still have most of it memorized.
  • After

    After
I wanted to get back into reading because I was told a lot that I can't be a successful writer without reading more books. So, strangely enough my history teacher loved to read so she started finding books from her library that she thought would interest me. Then the pandemic came so I graduated high school without being able to return the book. This book and her collection of books made me enjoy reading again.
  • Into The Water

    Into The Water
I once again tried to get into reading when I started struggling with rewriting my novel. So, I tried to find a book that resembled the novel I've been trying to write. I haven't gotten very far in the book, but it sits in my car and I open it up whenever I have the chance. It's really helping me come up with ideas for my story.
