The Stone age is where you will find Cave painting, fertility goddesses, and megalithic structures. It was around 30,000 - 2500 B.C. -
Mesopotamian era
Around 3500 - 359 B.C. known as the Mesopotamian era there were lots of warrior art and narration in stone relief. -
Egyptian era
The egyptians were both craftsmen and artist. between 3100 - 30 B.C. there were lots of work done in honor of threre gods. There art work had an alterlife focus with alot of pyramids and tomb painting. -
Greek and Hellenistic era
The Greeks were a civilization of mythological people. Majority of there work represented gods and often told stories within their craft. Their idealism and perfect proportions is literally jaw dropping. Their era was between 850 - 31 B.C. -
Roman era
Im sure we all have heard of Julius Caesar. The Roman era was between 500 B.C. - A.D. - 476. There work started to become focused on realism and practical. Though the Romans were known for its Colosseums. -
Indian, Chinese, and Japanese
Serene, meditative art, and Arts of the Floating World. The 3 cultures work though looked different, they all implyed the same content. Their era was between 653 b.c.–a.d. 1900. -
Byzantine and Islamic
Byzantine and Islamic era for art was very interesting. Between the times of a.d. 476–a.d.1453 lasted their era. Majority of their work contained Islamic architecture and amazing maze-like design. -
Middle age era
The middle age era is best known as a gothic, witchcraft type of civilization. Unlike the greeks and islamics, most of their work resembled dark almost evil type of paintings and structures. The era lasted between 500–1400 -
Early and High Renaissance
Better known as the "Rebirth" and classical era, This was again a civilization by the greeks who still focused their work around gods, but became more concerned on realism. Also this is where more art of Jesus Christ came about. Between the times of 1400–1550 -
Venetian and Northern Renaissance
The Renaissance spreads north- ward to France, the Low Countries, Poland, Germany, and England. Between the times of 1430–1550. -
Mannerism
Mannerism is a type of Art that breaks the rules. It doesnt not have one set culture, it is more so a movement. Between the times of 1527–1580 -
Baroque
During this era art as a weapon in the religious wars. There was thirty years of wars between Catholics and Protestants beginning 1618 and ending 1648. The Baroque era was between 1600–1750 -
Neoclassical
Neoclassical era was a time where the Art recaptures Greco-Roman grace and grandeur. The era was between 1750–1850 -
Romanticism
The triumph of imagination and individuality. This is the era where a lot of artists found their own style and gained originality. Between the times of 1780–1850 -
Realism
This is the era where artits focused on making their craft look as if you were acually standing in the picture. Realism is basically the era we are living in today. It started around 1848 and is still in effect.
