Alexander's first battle with Persia
Alexander crosses the Hellespont into Anatolia. Alex's goal was to kill King Darius III and conquer the Persian Empire. The king didn’t think he was going to be hard to battle but Alexander the Great quickly won the battle of the Granicus. -

Alexander's second battle with Persia
Alexander the great fights Darius at Issus. Darius had a bigger army but Alexander used the phalanx military formation to try to kill Darius. Darius got out of the battle and Alexander couldn’t catch him, but he captured Darius’s wife and children. -

Peace Treaty With King Darius III
King Darius offered half his kingdom, the land west of the Euphrates river, for his wife and children back but Alexander declined the peace treaty. He wanted to be king of all Persia and challenged Darius to keep fighting. -

Alexander's final battle with Persia
The battle was between Persians and Macedonians. The Persians were getting killed so again Darius fled. After Darius fled he died and Alexander the Great won the battle and became King of Persia. -

Alex tries to conquer Eqypt
Alexander the Great conquered Egypt. He founded the city of Alexandria and was called the son of the god Zeus-Ammon. Alex left shortly after to continue his conquests. -

Alexander The Great's death
When Alex's empire reached India, his soldiers wanted to return home. On his way back to Greece, Alexander became ill and died in Babylon. Alex may have died of sickness or poison. He died at age 32. -

After Alex died, his empire was split between 3 of his generals. Antigonus who was king of Macedonia and Greece. Ptolemy was king of Egypt. Seleucus was king of the land that was the Persian empire.
