Childhood
At age eight, my talent was recognized by Johann Franc and he insisted my parents let me live with him to study music. They agreed, hoping it would amount to something special. Getting older
In 1752, I met Nicola Porposa, a singing teacher and composer, who gave me singing instruction in return for me serving as his house servant and accompanist. I lost my voice as I got older and took on playing violin, teaching and composing. Getting first job
In 1757, I had just started becoming a freelance musician, teaching music, and composing, when I got my first steady job as a music director for Count Morzin. Becoming more famous

String Quartet
In January 1791 through 1795, I composed 106 symphonies and virtually invented the string quartet. The string quartet is a musical ensemble of four string instruments.

Austria
