Magna Carta
We need the magma carta because we need limits as to what we can do. We still have the rights to trial by jury, life, liberty, and property. -
Mayflower Compact
Mayflower Compact means that any men can practice any religion that they want, and speak anything about the government that they do not like. -
Petition of Rights
The Petition of Rights limited the king’s powers to what he can do. It stopped him from touching the citizens born rights. Without it the United States could have turned out like North Korea. -
Navigation Act
1650-1696. They need the navigation act because the needed to minimize the import, and maximize the export amount of goods for the nation to get better. -
English Bill of Rights
The colonists are now proud that they left because now they have more rights them they thought they could have and nothing will happen if they say something that they do not like about the government. -
Proclamation of 1763
This proclamation made the colonists mad because they wanted to go more west so the British may not have control over them. -
Sugar Act
The king made an act saying that people have to pay a sugar tax, half of the Molasses act tax which expired. -
Boston Tea Party
The colonists where taxed too much so the threw the tea out to show that they don’t need it. If they did not do that, Great Britain could have been taxing the colonists for a long time till they thought of something that could stop them. -
Coercive Act
The Coercive Act not only punished the beginners of the Boston tea party, but it punished all the colonies. -
First Continental Congress
The colonies are telling Great Britain that they do not need them any more, that they are fully independent, and that they will be fine without Great Britain. -
First Shot Fired at Lexington and Concord
The first shots where fired in the fight between the thirteen colonies and Great Britain. If tyhe coolonies win they are free. -
Second Continental Congress
They are organizing a fight so soon they could become free from Great Britain. -
Declaration of Independence
The Declaration of Independence is when the colonists said that they are no longer under the power of Great Britain. They are now their own country. -
Stamp Act
If it wernt for it people would be cheating all their lives.
