After many years of fighting and the suicide of there leader, Adolf Hitler, Germany finally surrenders to the Allied powers. -
Japan Surrenders to the U.S.
Japan had already agreed to unconditional surrender on August 14, 1945, but Japan formally surrenders on this date, ending World War II.
