Susan B Anthony was a strong believer in women's rights. in 1869 she founded a group, which was the National American Woman suffrage Association. She was a prominent leader. -
Illegal Voting
Susan B Anthony and a few other females participated in voting, depsite the fact that it was not allowed. They attempted to vote at least 150 times in ten states. Anthony was fined $100 at her trial. -
Carry Nation and the WCTU
The WCTU, or the Woman's Christian Temperance union used singing, praying, and hatchets to stop use of alcohol. The group proveded women with expanded public roles which they used to justify giving women voting rights. -
NAWSA
It was the National American Woman Suffrage Association, and it was founded by Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton. -
Carrie Chapman Catt and New NAWSA Tactics
She was the president of the NAWSA group. She served from 1900-1904. The five tactics were:
1. Painstaking organization
2. Close ties between local, state, and national workers
3.Establishing a wide base of support
4. Cautious lobbying
5.Gracious ladylike behavior -
