Declaration of Independence
The declaration of Independence issued on July 4th 1776 was the 13 American colonies severing the political connections to great Britain as a part of seeking Independence. -
The Constitution
The constitution of the United States is the Supreme law of the United States of America.This new consititution replaced the outdated old one shaping a new American Identity. -
Population growth
The population at this time sky rocketed from 2.2 to 2.8 million all because people were moving closer to the Atlantic Ocean so they could ship out goods easier. -
Erie Canal Constructed
This Canal was constructed from 1817-1825 it stretched from Albany to Buffalo. This canal was known as the longest artificial waterway and the greatest public works project in North America. -
Treaty of Chicago
The Treaty of Chicago officially gave the US the state of Michigan this treaty was signed by the Michigan territorial Lewis case. -
Treaty of 1848
Treaty of 1848 was a big accomplishment for the president Knox Polk. This treaty was put in place because the US wanted to own California and New Mexico. -
The Clayton Butler Treaty
This treaty was signed by the United States and the United Kingdom. This treaty was made in response of attempts to build Nicaragua Canal. -
American Civil War
The Civil war was a war in the United States between the Union and the Confederacy. The main cause of the war was the status of slavery and its expansion. -
Slavery End
Slavery ended on December 18th 1865 when the 13th amendment was adopted as a part of the constitution. -
The Great Chicago Fire
This was a massive fire that burned throughout the Chicago city from October 8th to October 10th. This fire killed approximately 300 people and destroyed around 3.3 square miles of city. -
Indian Wars Agreement
this agreement was made by congress annexes Sioux and it was Indian land including the Black hills.
