He was one of the people who drew up the Declaration of Independence which showed the Independence of America. Also he was a statesman who was really good and influenced decisions during war. -

French and Indian War
When the colonists and British over land against the French and their native allies. It lasted until 1763. After the French and Indian war, Britain did not take back her troops, but sent more troops and taxed the colonists to pay for those troops. -
Stamp Act
The Parliament issued the Stamp Act which said that all written objects had to have tax stamps to be used. This angered the colonists and they pushed for more freedom. it was repealed on March 1766 -
Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was a streetfight that ocurred when a mob of colonists started to shout and throw things at the Redcoats. This led the Redcoats to start shooting, since they were afraid that they would be hit. This later became called the Boston Massacre and it angered the colonists who started to see the British as murderers. -
Tea Act
The Parliament passed a law that taxed tea. This got the colonists angry and they later retaliated by sneaking into one of the ships and dumping all the tea into the water. People got more angry and they got the British government angry too. This is what led to the Intolerable Acts. Because of all the protests, the Tea Act was repealed in a year. -

The first congress was brought together because the colonists wanted to show their authority to Britain. It showed Britain that they had their own people who could rule them. -
Boston Tea Party
A group of colonists, angry at the Tea Act, sneaked into one of the ships and dumped the tea onto the water. The Parliament got angry and this led to the Intolerable Acts. -
Intolerable Acts
A list of laws that were cruel and which the Parliament made in retaliation of the Boston Tea Party incident. This is what led people to start thinking about a revolution. -
Battle of Lexington and Concord
The first shots of the revolution were fired in Lexington when when Redcoats were sent to destroy weapons that the town was keeping. They were met by a group of colonists where a shot was fired. This led to a full battle. It is supposedly how the revolution started. -
Fort Ticonderoga
The fort was full of weapons and was captured to make sure the British couldn’t use the weapons.The first official victory of the Americans. -
Battle of Bunker Hill
The Battle of Bunker Hill was actually on Breeds Hill which was right next to Bunker Hill. Colonists had built a fort and tried to drive back the Redcoats. The Redcoats succeeded, however there were a lot of casualties on their side. This showed that the colonists were a capable enemy. -
Declaration of Independence
The Declaration of Independence was signed in 1776 by people who are now famous. It showed all the laws of the new country. It was the very first document and represented the new country. -
Battle of Brooklyn
British forces advanced and tried to trap the Americans in Brooklyn. The first real battle between the American and British forces. -
Articles of Confederation/US Constitution
This was the first constitution of the U.S.. It was before the Declaration of Independence, though made by the same Congress. It showed that the 13 states were free and independent. -

The rebels army had no food, shelter, or clothes and a lot of the soldiers got sick. The Congress couldn't do anything aince they didn't have any money. The morale of the army was boosted as the men survived many hardships. -
Battle of Saratoga
The British were defeated at Saratoga by an American militia. This seriously made the French consider joining the American's side in the war. -
Battle of Monmouth
It was an indecisive battle when the British we're advancing to Yorktown, the American army fought them to stop their advance. It was very hot and both sides stopped fighting. The Americans succeeded in stopping the British from getting to Yorktown. -
Yorktown/Treaty of Paris
Yorktown was won by a combination of French and American forces. The war was close to over.
