The Factory Acts 1833, 1844
In 1833 the Government passed a Factory Act to improve conditions for children working in factories. Young children were working very long hours in workplaces where conditions were often terrible. In 1844 he Act reduced the hours of work for children between eight and thirteen to six and a half a day. -
