2001 - Sony Playstation
In 2001 I recall having some of my first gaming sessions as a child after receiving it for Christmas 2001. I loved the action and the graphics that it put into my young innocent life, feeling the rumbling feedback in the controller every hit I dealt and took in the game. Little did I know that this little PlayStation would lay the foundation for who I would be as a person for the rest of my life. -
2008 - Cell Phone
In the 7th Grade, I obtained my first cell phone, the Samsung Gravity 2. I remember it felt like my first step into the real world, kind of like a sense of freedom. I most enjoyed the 2.0-megapixel camera more than anything, and the video recording function, even though it was only less than maybe 280p. -
2009 - Apple Ipod Nano (4th Gen)
In the 8th grade, I scored an Apple iPod Nano Chromatic in black, which was pretty much a very dark grey. I saw my older sister have an iPod and how she always listened to music on it, and I finally had one of my own. This gave me the opportunity to finally express myself with the music that I liked, and to listen wherever I wanted to and not just on the computer. This made me feel like a cooler kid all the way to my freshman year in 9th grade. -
2013 – Apple iPod Touch
Though I was a bit behind everyone else, I got my first Apple iPod Touch. This was a strange time in the early 2010’s where you would have a flip phone for calling and texting, and an iPod for music, but if you were lucky enough, it would be an iPod Touch, to access social media AND your music! It felt great to connect with my fellow classmates via Instagram or Facebook, and even more so on Snapchat. It was then where I also realized I had the whole internet in the palm of my hands. -
2014: Smart Phone
In 2014, I finally got the opportunity to purchase my own smartphone, a Samsung Galaxy S4. Samsung was just coming out with these hot phones and was in strong competition with Apple and their iPhone. I finally felt like one of the cool kids who had a smart phone with everything in one, where I didn’t have to switch back and forth between two devices
