My mom would read books in Spanish so I could know her voice. She'd read and sing while I was growing in her stomach. -

My mom showed me books she read to me while she was pregnant and I began to read them with her. She'd teach me the words and we'd look at the pictures. -
Started Kindergarten
Began elementary in a Spanish speaking school and read more books in class and in the library. I enjoyed listening and following along. -

Began class with an English speaking teacher and classmates. Seeing books in English made me scared and not know what to do. I was shy when it came to reading. -

Found a book in English I was able to read. Became my favorite book, The Very Hungry Caterpillar. -
Read my first chapter book
Read my first chapter book Junie B Jones. Read different titles of this series and enjoyed them. -
High School reading
Read to Kill a Mocking Bird and took quizzes, tests, and had to write a report on it. It was tough, but I enjoyed it. -
Began a job as a Teacher's aid
Read books to children as a Teacher's aid. Began to fall in love with working with kids and teaching them. -
Reading with my Fiance
Began reading with my husband before we were married. Read Things I Wish I'd Known Before We Got Married. -
Reading books to my daughter
Daughter is born and began to read to her to get her started with liking books and enjoying reading while spending time together.
