We're gettting ready to pack up all of our belongings to move across the country to Independence, Missouri. We're packing early so that we can leave as soon as spring time comes.

Getting ready to leave

We've finsished packing, and we're getting ready to leave. Spring time is here and we're ready to set off.

Leaving

We're leaving today after a long month of packing all of our things and preparing our animals.

Sand storms

We've been on the trail for about a month now and there's sand storms already. We have to stop traveling for a couple of days and take cover for the sand storm.

Indians

May 1, 1843

We've been on the trail for about two months. We came across Indians. They wanted to take a couple of things from us, and we didn't really have a choice not to.

Stampede

May 11, 1843

We had to hurry up and get out of the plains for a while because there was a stampede.

Eating

May 23, 1843

The food we're eating isn't too good. Some of us are getting sick because most of our food has spoiled. The water we're drinking isn't good because it is from the river and it is muddy.

Fort Laramie

Jun 10, 1843

We're almost done our long journey along the Oregon Trail. We've stopped at Fort Laramie to get some good food, get some rest, and to get our animals to sleep.

Arriving

Jul 3, 1843

We finally arrived to the end of the trail. Now we will set everything up, and start a new life in Oregon.
