The Beginning
I don't remember much about the books in my early childhood, but one thing that stands out are the pictures of different characters. The ones I remember the most would be Clifford the Big Red Dog or Curious George. -
Dr. Seuss
Green Eggs and Ham will always be the first book I remember. It was the book I learned English from when I came to the United States. -
Eager to Learn
The Magic School Bus is when I realized that reading lets your imagination run wild, have fun, and also be educational. This is when I realized that I enjoy learning random facts about anything. -
Where the Wild Things Are
I think this is when I first started to relate with characters in a book. I enjoyed the idea of being able to escape to another world. -
Chronicles of Narnia
I found this series captivating because of the possibilities of finding a secret passage to a fantasy land, which I think calls out to any child. This is also the first time that I read a series set of books. -
Spookier Times
At this point I realized that I enjoyed the spookier side of fiction. I think I read the majority of the books in this collection, and found them to be humorous over all. -
My Favorite
I have to say that from all the books I have read in my life, Bridge to Terabithia has to be the one that stands out the most. I feel that it is a well rounded story and the only time I ever got emotional while reading a book. I have 2 copies of this book, and hope to get my children to like it as much as I do. -
The King
Stephen King has to be my favorite author in the genre I like the most. In my opinion, he is a very creative writer that can completely pull in readers using only his words. Out of all his books I would say It, and the Dark Tower series grabbed my attention the most. -
The Fellowship
This series had a bit of everything I enjoy reading about. Dark, Fantasy, Action. I enjoy these types of books that create a whole new world with so much detail that you can picture it in your mind. -
Hogwarts
Another exciting series that I enjoyed on both paper and film. Very well written and immersive (for those of us with wild imaginations)
