Travel to Puerto Rico
My family moves to Puerto Rico, everything was spoken in Spanish I began school in Puerto Rico and all classes were in Spanish except for the English class. It was very complicated for me. I did not know how to read or write in Spanish, I learn how to read and write in English. -
Travel back to New Jersey to work
I traveled back to New Jersey, but this time to work during summer time. I worked at a homecare where the only spoken language was English. Through this employment I reinforce and practice my English. -
Started to study in University
I started to study in the University of Puerto Rico in Aguadilla. To study a concentration in Elementary Education, I took all my electives class in the English Department, through those years the University didn't offer a concentration in English Education, but I knew I wanted to be an English teacher and I considered necessary to improve and develop my English skills. -
Travel to Europe
During that summer I traveled to Europe with a student travel group of the University. During that month in Europe I traveled to many different countries England, France, Holland, Germany, Italy, and Greece. In all those countries the language that we spoke was English. Our tour guide spoke English and Spanish, but mostly in English. During that month I practice my oral communication skill in English. -

Working as English Teacher
Since 2001, I started to teach in English until the present time. I have taught the grades pre-kinder to sixth grade, but this year I teach from 3rd to 6th grade. For five years I worked at Night school teaching English grades from ninth to twelve. -
English Certification Degree
I started to take the English Certification Degree in the UMET in Aguadilla, with these classes I learned different teaching skill and develop my English skills. -
My master Degree in Technology
I started to study my Master Degree in Technology like in my bachelor degree, I took all my elective class in the English Department. -
Travel to Canada
The summer of 2011, I travel to the United State and Canada. That summer I travel to different States like Washington D.C, New York, New Jersey, North Caroline and Canada. In all the state I communicate in English, all my tours were in English. I develop my English skills by reading, writing and oral communication skills, every time I travel I usually don’t write, but I read or try to read at least a book or magazine. Every time I spend some time with my family, I speak both language, but I do -
Bilingual Certification
This year I decide to take the certification of Bilingual Teacher to develop and continue increasing my English skills and to become a better professional I am also taking every Saturday workshops that are in English with the Cambium company.
