    All around the country new dance moves popped up. The Fox Trot, Charleston and Lindy were all new dance moves in this era. Also there were new types of music appearing in major cities all around the country, Jazz music was playing in nightclubs everywhere.

    In 1920 US prohibition has just begun. This opened the doors for many Canadain smugglers and US smugglers like Al Capone. This created a lot of tension betwwen US and Canada . Because of Prohibition Alcahol was reduced by 80%.

    Ice Hockey Gold at Summer Olympics
    The 1920 Olympic games were held at Antwerp, Belgium. This was Ice Hockeys first debut at the Olypics and it was the summer olympics. Ice hockey was supposed to be part of the 1916 Olympics but cause of WW1 it was cancelled. Canada beat Czachoslovakia, U.S.A and Sweeden to get the gold. The team chosen to represent Canada was the Winipeg Falcons.

    After WW1 thousands of men were without jobs and women were pressured to return to household duties. Imigrants took a lot of soliders jobs and imigrants took about 20% of Canada's population. Many men rode the rails in search for work. This was very signifigant because this led into the great depression and many more men lost their jobs then.

    Flappers were a huge change from the 1910s. In this phor you can see that these flappers were posing in a dnace club. All around the country dance clubs and night clubs popped up and with them came flappers. Flappers acted a lot diffrent from the victorian era. They drinked and smoked. Over all this was a start to a new era.
