Declaration of Independence
The Declaration of Independence is the statement adopted by the Second Continental Congress meeting at the Pennsylvania State House (Independence Hall) in Philadelphia on July 4, 1776, which announced that the thirteen American colonies,[2] then at war with the Kingdom of Great Britain, regarded themselves as thirteen independent sovereign states, no longer under British rule. -

On October the U.S senate ratified the purchase of the Louisiana territory to the U.S. In December 1803 France gave the U.S the region to the Louisiana territory. -

On February 23 1836 Santa Anna's troops surrounded San Antonio. The day after that the Mexicans began their siege/war of Alamo. The Texans met the attackers with a hailstorm, of cannon and gun fire until the Texans ran out of ammunition. The Slaughter shocked the Texans and showed them how hard they would have to fight in order for them to earn their freedom. -
