Political Crisis of 1789
The political crisis of 1789 was when France started to undergo a major political downfall. The government of France was failing to control their people. This was mainly due to the government's overwhelming debt. -
Bread Riots
The bread riots were when the 3rd estate rioted at the bread storehouses. They did this because the bread prices were so inflated they couldn't afford to buy it and so they were otherwise starving. The prices of bread were so high due to the French government's debt. There were many people of the 3rd estate that were killed during these riots by government officials who were attempting to subdue the starving mob. -
The Tennis Court Oath
The Tennis Court Oath was an oath taken by the 3rd estate at a tennis court in France. The 3rd estate was at the tennis court because they were locked out of the meeting held by the 1st and 2nd estates. The oath basically stated that the 3rd estate wasn't going to leave the tennis court until they got help from the 1st and 2nd estates with the making of their own constitution. -
The Storming of the Bastille
The Storming of the Bastille was when the French mob successfully raided and captured the Bastille armory in France. The French mob did this to collect firearms and other various weapons to aid them in their revolt. This marked the official start of the French Revolution -
The Declaration of Pillnitz
The Declaration of Pillnitz was a declaration issued by Austria and Prussia. This declaration stated that Prussia and Austria were willing to go to war with the National Assembly if the revolution was to get too far out of hand for the 1st and 2nd estates to handle. This was basically a threat to the National Assembly saying ¨If you don´t stop causin' a ruckus over there in France, we´re gonna intervene n you´re not gonna like it too much....but only if all the rest of Europe does it too.¨ :) -
National Convention is Assembled
On August 10th, 1792, the National Assembly turned into the National Convention. The National Convention was set up by the radical group known as the Sans-Culottes. This was the first form of a republic government that France had ever seen (as opposed to a monarchy). -
Jean-Paul Marat is Murdered
One day when Jean-Paul Marat is taking a bath and writing a paper, a normal lady named Charlotte Corday walks in and stabs Marat in the heart with a steak knife. She did this because she was against Marat´s methods and beliefs. Corday was guillotined and Marat was thereafter seen as a Christ-like figure (like a martyr). -

The Reign of Terror
The Reign of Terror was when Maximilien Robespierre reigned as president of the Committee of Public Safety in France. It was an extreme period of violence when anyone who thought about being against the revolution was guillotined. It was meant to keep out foreign enemies and to send fear through the people of France. -
Georges-Jacques Danton is Killed
Georges-Jacques Danton was the first president of the Committee of Public Safety. At first, Danton pursued the mentality that anyone against the Revolution should be guillotined. After a ridiculous amount of heads fell, Danton suggested the idea that maybe they ought to slow down the slaughtering of countless people. After proposing this idea, he was seen as against the Revolution and so he was imprisoned and later guillotined by the orders of his most trusted ally: Maximilien Robespierre. -

Napoleonic Control
This is when Napoleon Bonaparte steps in and takes control of the chaos going on in France. This pretty much marks the end of the French Revolution. One could say Napoleon Bonaparte is a hero because he saved the country of France from further turmoil.
