Britain won the war but was stuck in debt from buying supplies. -
Proclamation of 1763
Parliment passes a law saying colonist can't settle west of the Appalachian mountains. -
The Sugar Act
The Sugar Act reduced the tax on molasses from 6 pence to 3 pence per gallon. The act also listed more foreign goods to be taxed including sugar, wines, coffee, pimiento, cambric and printed calico, and regulated the export of lumber and iron. -
Stamp Act
Britian forced colonist to pay taxes on all paper items. This was the first tax on colonist from Britian. Most colonist though they should only be taxed by local government. -
Quartering Act
Parliment passes a law forcing colonist to house , feed , and provide for british soldiers or redcoats (to the colonist) -
Boston Massacre
Colonist started making fun of a redcoat outside a bank , the redcoats got mad and fired at the colonist, five colonist were killed. -
Boston Tea Party
Parliment past a law that stated colonist could only buy tea from a certain company. Colonist got mad and dumped over 90,000 pounds of tea in the harbor. -

The intolerable acts were 5 acts that were used to punish colonist for the boston tea party. These acts were very harsh and with no important reason. -
The First Continental Congress (September 5 - October 26)
Deligates from each colony exept Georgia met at Carpenter's hall in Philadelphia to discuss how to solve problems with Britian. Each delegate had different ideas. This event was important because it helped get colonist to start working together.
