Edward VI Dies
Although much of the time Edward VI was only a figurehead due to his age, his intelligence and ability to be a great leader was never fully fulfilled due to his death at age 15. He died of sickness that was suspected to be measles. However, Edward VII and his council are largely responsible for making England a protestant state. The Second Act of Supremacy and the repeal
In 1559 King Henry the Vlll first act of supremacy was repealed by his daughter Mary. Later, the act was reinstated by his other daughter Elizabeth the first. She required the people of England to take oaths of supremacy and could even get treason for not taking the oaths.
