The throne is given to her cousin, James Stuart. He had been waiting for her death because of all the perks it would give him (such as wealth). But he must have known that balancing everything wasn't going to be easy. -
Charles I died
He died because his health was failing. His son took the throne. Over the next 15 years Charle's English subjects were exluded by relious people and his determinationg to rule without parliment. -
Charles Summoned an English Parliment
His attempt to crush the Scots forced him to summon an English Parliment. People were upset with his policies. The Catholics of Ireland started killing hundreds of the English and Scottish people who settled in their country. -
Charles was beheaded
They saw that the kingdom could never be settled in peace while Charles I was still alive. Charles was accordingly tried, found guilty, and beheaded in January 1649.
