The Greeks had frist democracy. All citizens were supposed to take a role in their cities. An citizenship was denied to women and slaves. -

Most European countries had a monarchy. They felt that they
owed their power directly from God. This is called the Devine Right of Kings. in 1215, this ended beacuse the British nobility made the King give up his “divine right” and to create a Parliament. -
Rome
After the King was sent away, the upper class took over. they were called patricians. Patricians over ruled the common people.
