First Project
I wanted to learn to crochet because of my Grandmother. She has always made me gifts, and I have always held them dear to my heart. I wanted to one day pay her back and create something very special for her. So, I bought some basic supplies, and took to the internet to learn. The first thing I had to learn were the most basic stitches. Here is a few rows of what's called a "single crochet" stitch. I found it pretty hard to make the stitches even, but this was a good start. -
Expanding My Knoweledge of Stitches
After I learmed how to single crochet, I fell down a rabbit hole of learning new stitches. In this project I did two rows of "double crochet" and then two rows of a new stitch. I learned the "puff stitch", the "seed stitch", the "half-double crochet", the "treble crochet", both the "front post double chochet" and the "back post double crochet", and how to create a ribbing effect. This took quite a few days, and I was very proud of how quickly I was learning. -

Granny Squares
Granny squares are very versatile, and I really enjoy how they look. However, I really struggled with learning to make them. The biggest thing that confused me was how instead of turning you work like the pages of a book, you rotate it around in a circle. After I rewatched the tutorial a few times at half spead, I was finally able to create a square. I also learned how to connect squares and change yarn colors. -
