    The Murder of Emmett Till
    Emmett Till was a 14 year-old boy who was visiting his relatives in Money, Mississippi when he was reportedly flirting with a white cashier at a grocery store. Four days later two white man took, beat and shot him in the head. They were tried, but the all white male jury acquitted them.
  • The Muder of Medgar Evers

    The Muder of Medgar Evers
    Medgar Evers (37) was shot in the back while walking up to his home, his two children witnessing the murder. Byron De La Beckworth was suspected of killing Evers, and was convicted in 1994, 20 years after the murder.
  • Birmingham Church Bombing

    Birmingham Church Bombing
    Web. At 10:22 a.m. about 200 people were in the church, some attending Sunday school. Teh bomb went off, and the parishioners were able to get most of the people out. The only people left inside were 4 little girls, Addie Mae Collins (14), Cynthia Wesley (14), Carole Robertson (14) and Denise McNair (11) who were killed.

During Freedom Summer they had been trying to register black voters, when they had gone to see the burning of a black church. Police arrested them on trumped-up charges. After being imprisoned for hours they were handed over to the KKK, where Edgar Ray Killen killed them
