What: This act made it illegal in order to help runaway slave scape and allowed U.S officials to arrest slaves.
Why: To recapture runaway slaves -
Kansas- Nebraska Act
Who: Stephan A. Douglas
What: A plan that divided the rest of the Louisiana purchase into two territories(Kansas and Nebraska) which allowed the people in both territories to decide on the question of slavery.
Why: to law settlers there to decide on slavery or not.
•This act sparked violent conflict pro slavery and anti- slavery groups. -
Dred Scott and Sandford

Why: When Kansas decided to be a part of the US
