Harper asks Governor General to Prorogue
Harper asked Michaëlle Jean to prorogue parliament. Prorogue means shutting down the government for a session. Harper shut down the government because he was about to have no confidence and supply in a vote the following Monday. This was strategic of Harper so he could stay in power as the Prime Minister.
