Mussolini takes over Italy's Government
Mussolini’s road to a dictatorship took much longer than Hitler’s in 1933. Hitler was appointed chancellor on January 30th 1933. By April 1st 1933, his power was that, after the Enabling Act, Hitler could only be seen as a dictator of Nazi Germany regardless of Hindenburg’s presidency. Mussolini took years to achieve what could be defined as dictatorship, he achieved some similarity of power of power after the March on Rome in 1922 when he was appointed Prime Minister of Italy.

Japan Withdraws from the League of Nations
The failure to take action over Japanese invasion of Manchuria was a blow to the League prestige, especially when followed by Japan’s withdrawal. When the League didn’t support them and under pressure from other nations Japan withdrew as it no longer supported the concepts of the League.

Hitler openly announces to his cabinet he will defy the Treaty of Versailles

Creation of the Nuremberg Laws

U.S. surrender of the Bataan Peninsula on the main Philippine island of Luzon to the Japanese during World War II. Filipino and America were forced to make a 65-mile march to prison camps when there was intense heat, & harsh treatment by the Japanese guards.

The Doolittle Raid is a popular name given to a mission flown by members of the U.S. Army Force and Navy.
