Communism was the first to rise, then it was fascism, and then Nazism. The Nazi's was Hitlers plan to take over Europe. They eventually did over throw the government. Which started many riot and chaos and the Holocaust. (Book pages 568 and 569) Fascim is a political philosophy that glorifies the state to show the need for a strong central government which would be led by a dictatorial ruler. It started in Italy. While Mussolini tried to take complete control over Italy. Fascism was growing.(562) -
Mussolini takes over
Mussolini was from Italy and wanted to create a new Roman Empire. Mussolini was close to the German dictator. He led the invasion in Ethiopia. Mussolini and Hitler became close friends and one month later he spoke of the new alliance between Germany and Italy. (Book Page 622) -

Soviet UnionThe Soviet Union, as the new political party, was known for world Communist revolutions. It was founded by Vladimir Lenin but eventully under the control of Jeseph Stalin. The Nazi's propaganda attacked the Soviet Union but as Hitler and Stalin grew closer it didn't affect them too much. -

Hitler Becomes Chancellor
ChancellorAs a good speaker, Hitler got popular after the war. Creating The Weimar government and support for his Nazi party. The election was held in July 1932. The Nazis got 230 governmental seats. Together with the Communists, the next largest party was made up of over half of the Reichstag. -
Reichstag Fire
Reichstag The German parliament called Reichstag, building burned down. The government thought the fire was part of a Communist effort to overthrow the state. The Nazi's described the Reichstag fire as the work of the Communists and it was a signal for their planned uprising. But really there was no uprising. They said that to gain publicity. -
Nuremberg Laws
In 1935 the Nazi's announced new racial laws which were called Nuremberg Laws. This law defined anyone who was considered a Jew. Even a person with one Jewish grandparent. Jews were not allowed to marry Germans and were stripped of their civil rights. All Jews had to wear the gold David star to show they were Jews. (Book Page 573) -
Sudetenland Appeasment
On this date Hitler demanded that Germany be given the Sudetenland it was a land that was inhabited largely by Germans. The Munich Agreement was the agreement for Hitler to take the Sudetenland. (Book Page 622) -
Munich Conference
The Munich Conference was the high point in Hitler's plan to take over Czechoslovakia. Then Hitler and the British Prime Minister came to an agreement "Peace for our Time". He believed Hitler's promises. (Book Page 622) -
Kristallnacht
Also known as the night of shattered glass. It was a destructive rampage when Nazi's burned synagogues and destryed over 7,000 Jewish buisnesses. In the event at least 100 Jews were killed. Many Jewish males were gathered and sent to concentration camps. (Book Page 573) -
Nazi-Sovient Non-Aggression Pact
Pact It was a pact that stated in which the two countries agreed to take no military action against each other for the next 10 years.Stalin saw the pact as a way to keep his nation on peaceful terms with Germany, meanwhile it gave him time to build up the Soviet military. -
Invasion of Poland
On September 1, 1939, Germany invaded Poland. Two days later Britain and France declared war on Germany. The Polish army was defeated within weeks of the invasion. (Book Page 623) -
Beer Hall Putsch, Mein Kampf
Hitler created the uprising called the Beer hall Putsch but it was quickly crushed and Hitler went to prison. While in prison he wrote a book called Mein Kampf which means my struggle. In the book he talks about extreme nationalism.
