Hitler invaded Poland, which wade Great Britain and France declare war on Germany. This is when WWII began. This was how the war started. Germany started WWII. I think that this was for no reason. Germans killed millions of people for what purpose. -
Hitler gains control of western Europe
This was when Hitler decides to try to conquer the whole west side. He conquered Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg. In June, he took over France very quickly. In less than a year, he almost took over the west side of Europe. I think that this was a time when Hitler became more known, and was hated by lots. Also, he was to be afraid of, for taking over most of western Europe. -
Germany invaded the Soviet Union
On June 6th, 1941, Germans tried to fight the Soviet Union, but come winter, they couldn't fight them off, and were defeated. I think that this was a great time, because hitler was defeated, and he commited suicide. On the other hand, Germany fell, and was defeted again. This was sad for Germans. -
Japan attacks Pearl Harbor
The U.S.A didn't want to be in the war, until Japan set up a sneek attack. They bombed the U.S, because they thought of the U.S. as a threat. The U.S. was not ready for this, and there were a ton of people dead. This brought the U.S into the war. I think that this was not nice, because the U.S. didnt do anything. Out of know where they bombed us. -
The Allies invaded Europe on D-Day
Allied forces landed in northwetern Fance. It was a success. They were not spotted at all. They kept going, untill they hit Germany's boarder. With the Soviet Union attacking Germany from the east, and now the Allied forces from the west, the Nazis defence couldn't hold up. They were defeated. I think that this was a celebration for other countries, that Germany fell again, but I think that it would just be worthless. To fight and die. -
The United States drops atomic bombs on Japan
The president, Harry Truman, decided to use atomic bomb Japan. On August 6th, they decided to dropp the most powerful weapon, the B-29. Japan was the first to get atomic bombed. Japan lost a lot of people. First, the U.S. hit the city of Hiroshima, but they were not yet. Three days laiter, the U.S attacked Nagasaki in Japan. This made Japan really mad. I think that this was great to get our revenge on Japan. But, for Japan, they wish they didn't do anything to the U.S.
