This was an important day because over 340 000 prisoners escaped from Dunkirk. Hitler decides to retreat for a while and this got British got to escape by sea by using all sorts of different boats. -
Attack on Pearl Harbor
This battle was between the Japanese and the Americans at Hawaii on December 7th, 1941. They were attacked by 353 Japanese fighters, bombers and torpedo planes in two waves, causing all eight of the US Navy battleships to get damaged, 4 being sunk. -
Battle of Hong Kong
Canada, Britain and Indian forces had helped Hong Kong but were lacking troops, while Allies had 14 000, Japan had 52 troops. This was an important day because this was when Hong Kong had surrendered to the Empire of Japan and 10 000 troops were captured and were sent to camps all around Japan. -

D Day was the largest seaborne invasion, this battle was between the Germans and Allies at Normandy South, The Allies wanted to trick the Germans so they made a plan to send them to Pas de Calais. This was an important event because this got Germans to fight 3 different fronts: east, south and west. -
