Election of George Washington
The United States presidential election of 1788–1789 was the 1st presidential election. It was held from Monday, December 15, 1788 to Saturday, January 10, 1789. It was the first presidential election in the United States of America under the new United States Constitution. In this election, George Washington was elected for the first of his two terms as president, and John Adams became the first vice president. -

Whiskey Rebellion-A group of farmers rebelled against a tax.The tax was over whiskey.Farmers used whiskey to transport corn easier,so when the tax was made they would have to pay a tax to transport their whiskey.They rebelled because they didn’t want to pay a tax for something that they were going to sell as a general good.They ended up ending the group of rebels when they heard that the US militia was coming there way.It comes to show how strong the US government can be. -
Election of John Adams
George washington refused to serve a third term. John Adams was meant to take his place because he was vice president but some disagreed and wanted Thomas Pickney for President. The election ended with John Adams having 71 votes, Thomas Jefferson with 68 and Thomas Pickney with 59 -

Monroe Doctrine
The Monroe Doctrine was declared in a few paragraphs of President James Monroe's seventh annual message to Congress on December 2, 1823. Gibbons V Ogden
Gibbons vs. Ogden was a landmark Supreme Court case decided in 1824. in 1808 the state of New York passed a law that allowed them to control interstate commerce. One of the merchants affected was Thomas Gibbons who was aksed to not ship on any waters in between New York and New Jersey. This hurt him and his famaily and he brought the main that asked him to stop shipping between borders, New York state official Aaron Ogden, to court. This case worked it’s way up to the Supreme Court where they de
